The Trustees and Committee members would like to say a big thank you to Mercedes Benz of Exeter for their support.
Mercedes Benz of Exeter have donated a brand new satellite navigational system to Bob the Bus. The coordinator Lyn Price approached the company because the Bob the Bus fleet are all Mercedes Sprinters. Two of the fleet are used as back up buses for the service buses. These buses are hired out to affiliated community groups and play an integral part to the charities financial sustainability. The hire work enables the charity to provide the weekday community services at an affordable cost.
One of the volunteer drivers Joe came to the charity 18 months ago from working links. Joe is a qualified HGV driver and has been out of work for some time due to health reasons. Joe’s confidence has grown through his volunteer work and he is now ready to take on more driving, ultimately supporting him back into work. The sat nav will really benefit Joe, enabling him to become more independent. It will be a fantastic resource that will help this part of the service become more efficient. Fran Moorhouse, , marketing executive of the Exeter branch was really helpful and keen to offer their support to the charity. The sat nav was purchased within the month and presented to the chair Sue Speak, coordinator Lyn Price and Joe at Mercedes Benz of Exeter on 8th June
